Please wear something comfortable. You will be fully clothed throughout the session. You may want to take off your shoes. You’ll need to wear a mask at all times. Glasses and other accessories need to be removed. Remember to call your therapist once you arrive to have your temperature taken.
The initial consultation lasts approximately an hour and a half, though sometimes it can take a bit longer. Please bring the filled out patient form with you. The link is found on this page.
Therapy is a very light touch, Initially your practitioner will go over your form and ask questions that may help her ascertain the best treatment for you. Then she will access your body and then begin the gently touch craniosacral therapy. At any time if you feel uncomfortable, please let her know as soon as possible.
Occasionally some people may experience emotions-the therapy can bring up or trigger emotional feelings. The body and mind are very connected; memories can be remembered, both good and bad. Talk to your practitioner about any concerns you may have.
You are encouraged to drink a lot of water for several days after your session. The body is incredible and will continue the work for days after your therapy. Please let your practitioner know any changes or improvements that you feel throughout the next days.
There are no “set rules” as to how often you receive CranioSacral therapy. However, we do recommend that you come in initially for three sessions to see and notice the changes that occur. The first visit is one where we get to know one another and sometimes you may not notice the improvements that have taken place. Giving yourself three times to see how your body responds, enables you to really gauge whether CranioSacral therapy is right for you.
Then, your body will dictate when you need to come back. We have some clients who come in weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, every couple of months, etc.
You are the key factor in your healing. You are just as important as the practitioner. Both your voice and your body help dictate what the therapist does in each session. A healing journey is one in which you are in control and as practitioners simply follow the path you help to create.
Please fill out the intake form prior to coming to your first session. See the link below:
